Situated on the hill of Coutelin, the plots of the Château dominate the appellation. The Estager brothers direct this property which is distinguished by its clayey-chalky soil & thus the part of Cabernet Franc in the blend.
The bouquet is deliciously woody with hints of intense black fruits.
The Coutelin-Merville is a wellstructured wine with mature tannins & a superb length in the mouth.
Soil : Clay-Limestone & Gravels
Average Age of the vines : 31 years
Wine Growing :
Raised in oak wood 12 months (1/3 of new oak)
